Beyond the gift exchanges that many companies will employ during the holiday season, there are some times when gifts will be sent or business greeting cards might be sent out, which may have the potential to raise questions on just when a return gift should be sent or when a simple thank-you is sufficient. In cases where a gift was received either from another employee in a company or from an outside business source, no return gift is required unless the receiver was already aware that he or she was to get a present or gift during the holiday season.
