There have been significant advances in available intrusion prevention management for companies who utilize large groups of computers on an advanced network, but despite the many potential viruses just waiting to gain access to a vulnerable computer, viruses have been around almost as long as the internet itself. Before the modern incarnation of the internet, a network known as ARPANET was used for communication and the first virus was called the Creeper virus and was a self-replicating program that required that another program be written just to fully delete the Creeper from all infected machines.
